Dr. Ekokobe Fonkem
Dr Ekokobe Fonkem is currently an assistant professor of Medicine, Neurology and Neurosurgery at Texas A & M University Health Science Center College of Medicine and Director of the Brain Tumor Center at Baylor Scott & White Health Care. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 2002. He received his medical degree at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007 and went on to complete internship and neurology residency training at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, OH, followed by Neuro-Oncology Fellowship at Harvard University Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. He has authored and co-authored numerous articles on brain tumors and neurological complications associated with brain tumors. He maintained members with the American Academy of Neurology, Society of Clinical Oncology and Society of Neuro-Oncology. In addition, Dr Fonkem is the Chair and founder of the Fuankem Lekeanyi Memorial Medical Clinic (FLMMC), an organization that was founded to deliver medical care and to empower rural citizens in Cameroon, West Africa.
